Let me introduce myself: I’m Anastasia and, as I always say, I have 3 job titles: marketeer, atelier owner, and new mummy. 🙂
I moved to Manchester from Dubai 2 years ago (yep, from the sunniest to the rainiest city) where I started working as a marketing manager at the market research company The Insights Family. They specialise in kids, parents and family behaviour and consumption patterns. It’s a very number-based job, but it still helps me a lot with my creative project designing and selling handbags.
Having worked in the beauty and fashion industry in Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe for 10 years, I’ve always wanted to build my own brand that would truly reflect my beliefs. And the insights that I analyse at The Insights Family have shown me:
1. The UK is one of the leaders in sustainable consumption.
2. People here do support independent brands and creatives that bring value.
That’s why a year ago, I created the concept behind my brand Style In MCR (SIM)Handbag Atelier.
The name gives credit to the place where the idea was born: MANCHESTER. The city where people aren’t afraid of being themselves and looking the way they feel. My motto is “elegance and STYLE last forever”. I believe the key to looking great isn’t following the latest fashion trends. It’s staying true to your personal style.
After I completed all my sketches, I was lucky enough to have a team of passionate creatives help me bring the idea to life.
The idea is based on these main principles:
● less is more
● quality over quantity
● classic never goes out of style
● classic can have a modern twist
● local brands are the future
● we need to do it with love, good mood and inspiration (this actually became our signature label).
Style In MCR (SIM) Atelier provides unique but classic pieces that are distinctive without being too noisy. Basically, these bags will be your long-lasting friends!
We deliberately chose a range of neutral and classic colours for our bags, so that they match your everyday outfits.
The design of our signature bamboo satin knotted bag includes adjustable straps. This way, you can easily convert it from a shoulder bag to a handbag or even a wristlet and get more use out of it. A convenient and versatile piece! We encourage customers to build minimalist wardrobes and invest in garments they’ll have for a lifetime.
We handcraft our products on demand for the best possible results with keen attention to detail. This enables us to maintain the high standards we expect from every single one of our pieces.
At SIM, we do our part to support ethical consumption and the slow fashion movement. Crafting high-quality products is a great way to preserve the environment and consume more consciously.
So far, we’ve been absolutely delighted with the feedback we’ve received from our partners, followers and customers.
I think the key is to be transparent and share your ups and downs. After all, people appreciate honesty and authenticity. We’re not perfect, but every day we try to improve the way we run our small and lovable brand.
