My name is Lereese Atkinson and I run The Vintage Philocalist. For me vintage clothes are nostalgic, they’re romantic, fun and I love sourcing the perfect pieces. There’s no better feeling than finding a flawless outfit that fits like a glove and is a complete one of a kind.

My vintage journey has been a long one, I became obsessed with vintage fashion when I started university many moons ago. After living in a small town and only having Topshop and New Look to shop in, years of dressing like everyone else had become boring, so once I got to university and was introduced to my first vintage shop it was love at first sight.

I sold vintage clothing for years during my 20’s when I lived in London but I took a break from the vintage scene when my time in London came to an end and my time living in Manchester was about to begin! Taking that break really gave me time to refine exactly what it is I love about vintage clothing and more recently vintage and antique homeware. I’ve also had time to re-evaluate my own personal relationship with fashion and style.

Homeware and interiors is also a huge passion of mine, my own flat is full of vintage furniture, second hand finds and one of pieces.  I can spend hours and hours in shops and at fairs and markets finding the perfect items. Lockdown saw me cooking and baking more, laying my table with vintage  linens, wine glasses, plates all to eat a slice of homemade cake, table scaping has become a brand new obsession!

We are sustainability beginners here at The Vintage Phillocalist, but we want to learn and help make steps to achieve change and that starts with our small online offering. So as well as original vintage and handpicked homeware there will also be a PreLoved section. Second hand high street, designer items and other preloved clothing. Clothes don’t have to be bought, worn a few times then sent to the landfill. I want to carry on the items journey and hope someone else enjoys the pieces as much as I did.

I hope you enjoy what The Vintage Philocalist has to offer as much as I do sourcing it all you for.
